Beginners guide to Vienna, Austria

image

We stayed with someone on couchsurfing.com again that lived walking distance to the main square of Vienna. We found a lot of people on couch surfing that lived there so it wouldn’t be too hard to find someone.

The architecture of the whole city is really cool. We walked around and looked at all of the pretty churches and went shopping. We found a big outdoor food market with vendors selling food from all around the world. You have to have a bratwurst from one of the hotdog stands.

We asked our couch surfing host where we could get Indian food and he sent us to this Pakistani buffet where you give them whatever amount of money you want to pay. I’ve never had Pakistani food but it was so good. It was similar to Indian food.

We walked around the Schonbrunn Palace and walked through all of the gardens.

Everyone tells you that you have to go to Hotel Sacher to get a piece of famous Vienese chocolate cake. They sell it everywhere but it started at that hotel. It was actually pretty good, it has marmalade in the middle so it’s like a fruity chocolate cake.

We went to a little stand near our place we were staying and got a curry wurst. One of the best hotdogs I’ve ever had. It was a bratwurst on Vienese bread with onion, curry sauce and curry powder on it.
