We finally got to meet up for our European summer travels together. Rome was our first stop in Italy. We went on a tour through Vatican City one day and the next day saw the colosseum, the old city, and the Pantheon. The Sistine Chapel was beautiful and I snuck a photo of it. St. Peter’s basilica was also one of the prettiest sites I’ve ever seen. I would also go see the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain but when we went there was a ton of construction going on.
We stayed at a hostel in little India called Marian Gueshouse. The managers were so nice. They had free breakfast and dinner every night and free sangria on the weekends.
And of course, the food all over Italy is the best. Not only the restaurants are amazing, but we would go to the grocery store and get bread, cheese, prosciutto and wine for so cheap! You can’t beat a good bottle of wine for $3.
After we did everything we wanted to do in Rome we decided to try and find a beach. We found one a little over an hour away that we got a train and a bus to. It was so worth it because the beach was beautiful!
