Florence was our favorite city in Italy. The architecture, culture, shopping, food, everything about it was awesome. Even though we didn’t go inside the Duomo because the line to get in was insane, the outside of it was so cool. You can even climb to the top of it. I would suggest getting there first thing in the morning so there are no lines.
We went to the Accademia Gallery to go see the statue of David. I would also suggest getting there earlier so you don’t stand in line in the heat like we did.
Walking the city at night is beautiful. Go see the bridge called the Ponte Vecchio. There were lots of people around drinking beer, eating gelato, and listening to a band play on the bridge.
The San Marco Museum is a convent with old paintings and manuscripts from the 12 century.
Florence was really fun at night. We met some locals that took us to a free concert going on in one of the squares.
